An Expanding Ministry

Luther Luckett Christian Church has expanded its ministry.  With limitations at the prison in

La Grange regarding outside churches coming to worship, we have begun a second worshiping community, New Life In Christ Christian Church, which is meeting at a women’s halfway house in Louisville.

The response has been great and we are beginning to schedule churches who want to join us for worship. We worship every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at 1218 W. Oak Street in Louisville and all are invited.

Because of its early success and the continued success of Luther Luckett Christian Church, the demand for our reentry program Nurture, Support and Accountability Groups has grown. These groups, trained through our mission partner Mission Behind Bars and Beyond, work with men and women in a mentoring program when they leave places of incarceration.

We need more volunteers to serve in this important ministry.  The next training event will be on Saturday, October 5th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m at St. Stephen United Church of Christ in Louisville.  If you or others in your congregation are interested in participating in this transformational ministry, please contact Rev. Dean Bucalos at 502-459-4282 or at dbucalos@yahoo.com.

Invitation from Corydon Christian Church

An Amazing Evening
Of Story and Song
March 16 at 7:00 pm. at Corydon Christian Church
216 North Mulberry Street

Phil Gulley, a Quaker pastor and beloved writer and speaker from Danville, Indiana has published 17 books, including the acclaimed Harmony series chronicling life in the eccentric Quaker community of Harmony, Indiana and the best-selling Porch Talk series of inspirational and humor-ous essays. Gulley’s memoir, I Love You, Miss Huddleston: And Other Inappro-priate Longings of My Indiana Childhood, recounts his coming-of-age years.
Phil will be joined by singer Tim Grimm who walks the fine line between folk and country, while maintaining a strong footing in tradi-tion. Tim’s songs are full of the rural rumblings that have shaped his life—rich with descriptive details, and sung with warmth and intimacy—recognizing the inextinguishable national romance with the idea of the family farm and the vanishing landscape of rural America.
Story-teller Phil Gulley and Singer Tim Grimm Come Together With Stories and Songs That Are Sure To Inspire You.
Tickets are $10 if purchased before March 14.
$15 at the door.
